Charles D. Lummus

Charles D. Lummus, currently retired, was born in El Campo, Texas, in 1945.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas Law School in 1968.

He was licensed by the State Bar of Texas as an attorney in 1968. Mr. Lummus is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association (President, 1978), State Bar of Texas and Texas Association of Bank Counsel.

Mr. Lummus was a member of the Board of Directors of the State Bar from 1989-1992 (representing District 76 covering Johnson, Tarrant, Ellis and Hill Counties). He is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

Mr. Lummus served as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) from 1968-1973.

Mr. Lummus has served as President of the following organizations: Cleburne Crimestoppers, Inc.; Layland Museum Board of Directors; and Johnson County American Heart Association. Mr. Lummus, has served on the Board of Directors of the following organizations: Trans Texas Title, Inc.; Texas Ranger Museum Library Board (Waco, Texas); Cleburne Little Dribblers Basketball; Cleburne Chamber of Commerce; Crimestoppers; Stewart Title Company; Rotary Club; Layland Museum; Hill College (Liaison Board Member – Johnson County Representative).

Mr. Lummus’ practice areas include Real Estate, Wills and Probate, Banking and Business Law.

Mr. Lummus is married to Sandra Yates Lummus and has two children, Mark and Kimberly.

James E. Hallman

He attended the University of Texas majoring in accounting and graduated from Baylor Law School receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree in 1972.

James E. Hallman (“Jim”) was licensed by the State Bar of Texas as an attorney and counselor at law in 1973.

Mr. Hallman is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association (Secretary, 1985; President, 1977), the State Bar of Texas, and the Texas Association of Bank Counsel.

Mr. Hallman has served on the District 7/B Grievance Committee and has been named as a Life Fellow by the Texas Bar Foundation.

Mr. Hallman was a Vice President and Trust Officer for Cleburne National Bank from 1973 to 1975 prior to his entering into law practice in the firm of Hallman & Allen. In January of 1986,

James E. Hallman, together with Charles Lummus, Curtis Pritchard, and Burton Baker, formed the current law firm of Lummus, Hallman, Pritchard & Baker.

Mr. Hallman’s practice areas include real estate, estate planning, including wills and revocable trusts, and irrevocable life insurance trusts, and corporate and business law and oil and gas law.

Jim is married to Kathy B. Hallman and has three children, Kathryn, James, and Laura Beth.

Curtis Pritchard

Curtis Pritchard was born in Cleburne, Texas in 1952.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, and graduated from Baylor University School of Law in 1977.

He was licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas in June 1977.

Mr. Pritchard served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bell County, Texas before returning to Cleburne in 1978.

Mr. Pritchard has served as the past president of the Johnson County United Way, as a member of the City of Cleburne Parks and Recreation Board, and has taught Business Law at Hill Junior College.

He has been past president of the Johnson County Bar Association, has served on the District 7-B Grievance Committee, has received the Gean B. Turner Award as the outstanding attorney of Johnson

County, and has been named as a Life Fellow by the Texas Bar Foundation.

Mr. Pritchard is Board Certified as a Family Law Specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, but practices in all areas of litigation.

Curtis is married to Dianne Sartor Pritchard and has two children, Paige and Price.

Willard Burton Baker, Jr.

Willard Burton Baker, Jr. was born in Cleburne, Texas in 1954, to Willard and Florence Baker.

Burton received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1976 and graduated from South Texas College of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree in 1981 where he was a member of the Order of the Lytae.

Burton Baker was licensed by the State Bar of Texas as an attorney and counselor at law in 1981.

Burton Baker began his law practice in Cleburne where he went into partnership with his father, Willard B. Baker in 1981. He is a third generation Cleburne attorney following his father, Willard B. Baker and his grandfather, Tyler A. Baker.

In January of 1986 Burton Baker and his three named partners started the firm of Lummus, Hallman, Pritchard & Baker. His father, Willard B. Baker shared office space and was of counsel to the firm until his death in 1993.

Burton is a past president of the Johnson County Bar Association and has been named as a Life Fellow by the Texas Bar Association.

Burton Baker practices in all areas of civil litigation including Personal Injury Law, Civil Trial Law, and now Oil and Gas Law.

Burton Baker has maintained a practice in his Father’s areas of Estate Planning (through wills, Powers of Attorney, Medical Powers of Attorney, HIPAA Releases, Directives to Physicians and Declarations to Guardians) and Probate Law. Burton, with this experience, also maintains an active Trial practice in Probate Litigation, including Will Contests and Real Estate Litigation, including Adverse Possession, Trespass to Try Title, Suits to Quiet Title, and Title Policy Claims.

Burton is married to Joni Smith Baker and has two daughters, Meredith and Brooke.
